Academic Calendar
The Master’s Program in Human Performance is a two-year program structured into four academic semesters.
🔹 Academic Year Structure
The academic year begins on September 1st and ends on August 31st of the following calendar year. The academic schedule consists of two semesters:
- Fall Semester
- Spring Semester
Each semester includes:
- 13 weeks of teaching
- 2 weeks of exams
📌 The September resit examination period corresponds to the previous academic year.
Announcement of the Academic Calendar
The start and end dates of classes, as well as the corresponding examination periods, are determined by the Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and published on the program’s website before the start of the academic year.
ECTS & Educational Activities
The curriculum of the Master’s Program includes educational activities that correspond to 60 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) per academic year.
Holiday Periods
🔹 No classes or exams take place during the following periods:
📆 Summer Break:
- July & August
📆 Christmas Break:
- December 24 – January 7
📆 Carnival Break:
- From the Thursday before Clean Monday until the day after Clean Monday
📆 Easter Break:
- From Holy Monday until the Sunday of Thomas
Public Holidays & National Celebrations
During official holidays, no classes or exams take place.
📅 National & Religious Holidays:
- October 26 – Feast of Saint Demetrius & Liberation of Thessaloniki
- October 28 – Oxi Day (National Holiday)
- November 17 – Anniversary of the 1973 Polytechnic Uprising
- January 30 – Feast of the Three Hierarchs (Religious Holiday)
- March 25 – Anniversary of the Greek War of Independence
- May 1 – Labor Day (Public Holiday)
- Holy Spirit Monday – Movable Religious Holiday
📌 The dates of student elections are announced annually by student organizations and the university administration.
