Programme

The curriculum includes two specialized tracks, from which each student must select prior to enrollment:

Maximizing Athletic Performance

This specialization focuses on advanced coaching methodologies and the scientific principles behind athletic performance enhancement. Students will develop expertise in:

  • Coaching guidance and leadership strategies
  • Laboratory and field-based research in sports performance
  • Training program development tailored to different sports
  • Nutritional principles for athletic performance
  • Psychological support techniques for athletes
  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation
  • Exercise physiology and biomechanics applied to sports

Upon completion of the program, graduates will have a comprehensive understanding of training methodologies and the key components required for guiding elite athletes and sports teams.

Career opportunities span across all age groups and levels of athletic performance, from professional sports and elite competition to recreational and fitness-based programs.

ECTS & Workload

The Master’s Program in Human Performance follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), as outlined in Article 14 of Law 3374/2005.

  • The workload for full-time students is 30 ECTS per semester and 60 ECTS per academic year.
  • To obtain the Master’s Degree (MSc), students must accumulate a total of 90 ECTS over three semesters.
  • The Coordinating Committee (S.E.) is responsible for defining the workload per course.

Exercise for Prevention & Rehabilitation

This specialization focuses on the role of exercise in health improvement and disease prevention. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of health-related behaviors and acquire expertise in designing specialized exercise programs tailored to individual needs across different population groups.

Additionally, the curriculum covers nutritional principles and the factors influencing physical activity participation in various demographic categories.

Graduates of this specialization will gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work in public and private sector organizations, focusing on the development and evaluation of exercise programs for mass sports and individuals with chronic conditions.
