Regulations on the Functioning of the Academic Advisor Institution

The Academic Advisor Institution has been established in the Master’s Program (M.Sc.) Human Performance to provide guidance and support to students throughout their studies. The Academic Advisor offers personalized assistance, facilitates academic progress, and contributes to the smooth completion of the program.

📌 Role & Function of the Academic Advisor

  • Each student in the M.Sc. program is assigned an Academic Advisor, who is a member of the teaching staff.
  • The Academic Advisor monitors the student’s academic progress from enrollment to graduation.
  • They provide guidance on topics such as:
    • Study organization
    • Course selection
    • Examination period management
    • Advisory support for students facing challenges

📌 Assignment & Collaboration Process

  • The name of the assigned Academic Advisor is communicated to students upon enrollment at the Department’s Secretariat.
  • The first meeting between the Advisor and the student takes place at the beginning of the program and no later than the end of the calendar year of enrollment.
  • Students can regularly communicate with their Advisor and schedule meetings during designated consultation hours.
  • If an Academic Advisor is on leave or absent, a temporary replacement is appointed.
  • In exceptional cases, students may request a change of Advisor by submitting a written, justified request to the M.Sc. Secretariat.

📌 Duties of the Academic Advisor

📌 Creation of Student Records
  • During the initial meeting, the Advisor creates an individual record for the student containing essential contact information and academic progress details.
  • These records are confidential and are maintained exclusively by the Advisor.
📌 Advisory Guidance
  • The Advisor communicates with each student at least twice per semester:
    1️⃣ At the beginning of the semester to organize course selection.
    2️⃣ After the examination period for feedback and addressing potential academic difficulties.
  • Provides guidance on effective study management and timely program completion.
  • Supports students experiencing academic difficulties by facilitating communication with faculty members and suggesting alternative solutions.
  • In cases of serious academic concerns, the Advisor may request a meeting with the student upon request from teaching staff members.
